An online revolation

It is no secret, the fact is that many if not all woman love to shop. It can very well be categorized as a hobby for some and that is the case especially for myself. I have a self prognosis of having a serious shopping problem. And although shopping is something i enjoy- i call it a "problem" because i also see shopping as a privilege and a luxury. In other words, i believe you have to work and earn things. If you've got the funds to spend frivolously, then you should do so.

My problem is i work but definitely not enough to feed my spending habits- which mostly consists of shopping. And i never thought of it as a problem until i realized i couldn't fight the urge to purchase new and unnecessary clothes and shoes when i was well aware of my many unpaid bills.

I've become ashamed of this terrible habit and i tried hard to control my spending. Until i discovered online shopping. That is also when i had learned the endless possibilities and advantages of shopping over the internet. There are so many more ways to save and shop smart! And i found that i had developed a skill to saving money while learning to rid myself of my bad habit.

Learning that i can always find better deals shopping online by researching various deals and sales, i would save myself money i woulnd't have even thought twice about giving away full price! No material good is worth paying full price because somewhere out there, it's on sale- you just have to look for it. And with that, i can put down that lovely top, dress, handbag or etc. that i feel "i need so bad!".

There are infinite ways to "shop smart" and shop within the limits of your budget if you've got one. Especially when giving up on shopping is just NOT and option ;)

Anyway, i've always wanted to share about my "finds" because i have come across some amazing deals! so i'm going to start posting a "Deal of the Day" to feature my smart shopping find for every time i purchase something. I'm also going to use it to keep track of my spending as to not go overboard. I've had so many unworn items i just forget about in the back of my closet!

DEAL OF THE DAY:
Steven by Steve Madden 'Intyce' Boot
Original: $136.XX - $199.XX (i checked on Bloomingdales, Nordstrom and Steve Madden)
Purchased: $26.XX with extra 35% off = $17.XX

*** I found these boots at Nordstrom Rack in the kids section. I am lucky enough to fit the kids version (same style in adults) size 5M!

Post Valentine's Day

It was a busy Valentine's day weekend but everything went well and Valentine's day was perfect. I worked half the day- and it was hectic to say the least because of all the last minute V-day shoppers and those who decided that spending V-day at the mall would be "romantic" but afterwards, when i got off of work, me and Nam exchanged gifts.

I got tons of flowers! and no matter what any girls says, flowers are always romantic and i love getting them. I must be old-fashioned but i dont think i could get sick of getting flowers. Anyway, it was our first Valentine's day together so i didn't want to over do it but i also wanted to celebrate the fact that it was our "first" so of course i went the sappy route and poured my heart out onto a card along with a sentimental gift but he was the one who really went the extra mile!

He hand-made a card for me!!!  And he cut little green strips of paper out and wrote sweet things on them. That was the most sentimental thing i've ever received from anyone for V-day, on top of the gift he surprised me with later on. He's so sweet to me.

My other bouquet of flowers. They are so pretty!

Reinvented

It's been over a year since i have updated! That's got to be a record breaker or a very sad and lonely blog. Since it's a New Year, 2010 is going to be a year for me to reinvent many aspects of my life and self. And so much of it has inevitably changed and for the better. i am at the happiest point of my life and feeling such gravitation from it i want to choose to live in the present and think positively. And as an addition to this New Year resolution- i also promise to not neglect my blog :)

On another note- its Chinese Lunar New Year!

I have always loved celebrating new years with my family, especially the times we celebrated in China. The celebrations are so extravagant and the food is amazing. When i think of Chinese New Year i always think of the brightly decorated streets and awesome displays back in China. It completely encompasses everything i have a love for- food, family, fun.

Living in the Midwest of the United States makes it easy to miss all these traditions. although my family here try to keep all these traditions alive, it's a whole different experience there. Anyway, i wish my friends and family good health and prosperity!
