Pony up

I've been hating my hair for the last month! i can't make it look good no matter what i do or how much time i put into it. I can't even remember the last time i got a hair-cut or trim because i've been trying to grow it out. I was wearing extesion for a little while up until a 5 months ago because of a hair-cut gone wrong. Now, since i've taken them out im lost on what to do with my hair. I have such fine hair and not a whole lot of it! What i would give for a thick full head of hair, *sigh.

I have had the same "hair do" for nearly 5 years. and its pretty basic even though it takes a little while to style. I tease my crown to make my hair look full since i have limp hair and i usually style it with a flat iron. i use the flat iron to curl and straighten my hair. The look it gives your curls are more soft and wave like. Anyway, i don't know if i've out grown my normal hair do or what but i just can't get it to look "right" anymore and now i wear a pony tail all the time.

I usually wear it low or in a messy bun. I remember the days when i would sleek it back and have every strand perfectly in place. Now is definitely not the case. I have been contemplating cutting my hair shorter again. Probably shoulder length but with lots of layers to give me a full look and retire the teasing! But its hard to commit to the decision because i've always had long hair and i know its all in my head but i just dont feel attractive with shorter hair. I just really feel like i need a change!

I also look really young for my age so i have to be careful of the way i style my hair. i dont mind a chic bun/pony tail but im not sure how i'll style my hair when its cut short. im afraid the cut will make me look even younger! Also my pony tails are kind of sad since i dont have much hair to gather.

Ironically, i was watching tv the other day and came across this infomercial for "Texas Tail". It was a quick commercial so i did more research online.

Texas Tail- this is the link to the website where you can purchase them. There is a video that also explains how it works. I am debating whether i should try it out or not. If i do, i will for sure review it!

Here are some great ponytail styles:

Lauren Conrad and her pretty parted, side pony.

Audrina's dressy side bun

I love this effect. Very soft.
Sleek and pulled back infront, volumized and dramatic in the back!

Hayden's middle part, and romantic curls. Another side pony

Super sleek and pulled back

i cant find a better picture of this but its Kate Hudson. I love how she created this effect with 3 ponytails in one.

Alice in couture!

So i went to see Alice in Wonderland 3D at the Imax Theater yesterday and it was amazing! We went early in the day thinking it wouldn't be as busy since kids are in school and such but we were wrong, the theater was nearly full! Anyway the effects were so cool, i don't even remember the original movie and story line after watching this. Tim Burton's mind works in wonders!

Alice, played by Mia Wasikowska was looking so couture in her Alice outfits. And my, did she have plenty wardrobe changes!

(pictures comign soon)

Interview driven

I have an interview tomorrow morning and I'm trying to get myself prepared for it. I really want to do well and get the position! I've been reciting in my head over and over the things I would say during these job interviews. I used to think I was good at it because I'd always get the job but I've recently had some flops which I will admit has really got me down but now I am more determined than ever.

One thing I've always found important to have is a positive attitude and outlook on things. You've got to have confidence going into any situation. That's how you know you will more than likely succeed. When you are confident people will know it and in turn they will feel confident in you. This is a trait I definitely posses in all my endeavors including at work.

A big part of having confidence at work comes from having knowledge of the things around you i.e knowledge of products, policies, staff and etc. I've been with my current employer for almost 2 years now and i've learned so much of all those things. With that said i've also been reaching so many of my goals at work and this has also helped me feel confident at my work place. I find myself most successful at sales and helping customers when i have more knowledge of the customers needs and of the product i present to them. This brings me to my next point of which knowing your customers comes into play.

Its not only important to know the customer who walks through the doors but it is important to know how to read people in general. This is honestly a skill you develop through out the time of working in customer service. You'll learn quickly how to read body language, expressions, and "reading between the lines" so to speak. I've found myself using this skill with customers and co-workers because some times what they want/need is communicated in many forms. Know when and how to help.

Another important note to make is you should always be courteous of the customers needs. Always be understanding and open minded because people come from all walks of life and if you want to be helpful and provide good customer service you must keep that in mind and make them feel comfortable, the key to gaining their trust in you and in turn the confidence to purchase from you. This keeps customers coming back!

I enjoy what i do very much and i am always looking for new challenges in life.  I would like to find a job where i will be given a chance to move up and gain responsibility as i grow with the company. I've never feared changed instead i embrace it. My perception of change is just another opportunity to learn and better myself. I believe i adapt easily to changing environments.

Well that's all the rambling im going to do tonight. Wish me luck!

An online revolation

It is no secret, the fact is that many if not all woman love to shop. It can very well be categorized as a hobby for some and that is the case especially for myself. I have a self prognosis of having a serious shopping problem. And although shopping is something i enjoy- i call it a "problem" because i also see shopping as a privilege and a luxury. In other words, i believe you have to work and earn things. If you've got the funds to spend frivolously, then you should do so.

My problem is i work but definitely not enough to feed my spending habits- which mostly consists of shopping. And i never thought of it as a problem until i realized i couldn't fight the urge to purchase new and unnecessary clothes and shoes when i was well aware of my many unpaid bills.

I've become ashamed of this terrible habit and i tried hard to control my spending. Until i discovered online shopping. That is also when i had learned the endless possibilities and advantages of shopping over the internet. There are so many more ways to save and shop smart! And i found that i had developed a skill to saving money while learning to rid myself of my bad habit.

Learning that i can always find better deals shopping online by researching various deals and sales, i would save myself money i woulnd't have even thought twice about giving away full price! No material good is worth paying full price because somewhere out there, it's on sale- you just have to look for it. And with that, i can put down that lovely top, dress, handbag or etc. that i feel "i need so bad!".

There are infinite ways to "shop smart" and shop within the limits of your budget if you've got one. Especially when giving up on shopping is just NOT and option ;)

Anyway, i've always wanted to share about my "finds" because i have come across some amazing deals! so i'm going to start posting a "Deal of the Day" to feature my smart shopping find for every time i purchase something. I'm also going to use it to keep track of my spending as to not go overboard. I've had so many unworn items i just forget about in the back of my closet!

DEAL OF THE DAY:
Steven by Steve Madden 'Intyce' Boot
Original: $136.XX - $199.XX (i checked on Bloomingdales, Nordstrom and Steve Madden)
Purchased: $26.XX with extra 35% off = $17.XX

*** I found these boots at Nordstrom Rack in the kids section. I am lucky enough to fit the kids version (same style in adults) size 5M!
